Work With Me

In the past folks said I was "Like Gandalf" or that I was "A 5-tool player." I run toward the challenges others shy away from. I always have. Unfortunately, it makes the question, "What do you do?" really hard to answer. The reality is pretty simple though:

I deliver the answer to your impossible ask, and the team that makes the next one possible.

The best way to learn if I'm right for you is to call.

What I Believe

Don't tell anyone, but my career started as a software developer. I developed a belief that writing code was the least responsible thing a developer could do. I was convinced that the important decisions happened outside of code and so that began my long journey to make the act of writing code worth it.

Folks hire me because they have an impossible ask. There are three things that keep them coming back.

Teams that can do impossible things. I have a talent for building teams that don't need late nights or heroics or constant oversight to deliver results.

Truth in data. Too many dashboards and too many reports are just noise and theater. I bring metrics and signals that are transparent and inform decisions.

Do what works. I don't care for hype, I care about results. From strategy development to deploying tools and techniques, I use what is proven to make it happen.

I spent years working for other consultancies to learn the ropes. I came to the conclusion that at the end of the day most of them are too preoccupied with how they look while billing hours to really make a difference for their clients.

My work has spanned startups and Fortune 10 companies. I've shaped transformations of 5,000-person organizations, and sat next to developers while they learned to improve the quality of their code.

I believe that it is my duty to leave every client better than I found them.

How an Engagement Works

Impossible asks don't have to mean grinding the teams down, paying some consultancy for a leaky bucket of hours, or quiet failure. Working with me is different.
