Installing a Package
Steps
- Inspect Contents.
- Lots of dead bees, call the supplier
- Knock bees to bottom
- Remove lid
- Remove syrup
- Replace Lid
- Remove Queen and inspect
- If dead, contact supplier
- Remove lid and shake bees into hive
- Expose candy plug and insert queen into hive
- FEED
- Check on queen escape in 3 days
Tips
- They can be kept in cool dry place for a day or more
- Spray with sugar water or replace syrup if you aren't installing them soon
- Entrance reducer
- Obstacles to prevent absconding
- You can leave the package inside if you want
